Ian MacIvor

It all happened so quickly. Ian MacIvor, just 24 years of age, was with his cousins who had just bought a pre-construction condominium in Bronte and he expressed that he was ready to move out on his own as well. The condominium project was called Bronte Lakeside and happened to be in Oakville where he grew up.

“I went to school in Bronte and spent a lot of time there as I was growing up,” said Ian. “We have great memories of spending time there by the harbour, fishing or walking along the trails by Bronte Creek.”

Understanding the benefit of buying a new condominium in the pre-construction stage with the possibility of it increasing in value when he closes in a few years, he visited the presentation centre two or three times. He saw the suite his cousins had purchased and after some discussion, he decided to buy their suite and they bought the one above his. The cousins had grown up together in Oakville and now would be able to continue spending time together in their own homes. In addition, his parents also live close by in Oakville.

A car aficionado, Ian followed his love and became an automotive technician, after having trained in Hamilton for three years. He currently works for a Canadian Tire in Oakville and loves his work and is confident that with his training, he will never have trouble finding a job in Oakville.

Ian bought a one bedroom suite on the second level on the same level that the building’s large landscaped terrace is located.

“It’s like having my own huge backyard,” he comments. “I love the open space and having this outdoor area right on my floor is ideal. It’s like an extension of my suite.”

Important also to Ian is the fact that Bronte Lakeside will be using geo-exchange to heat and cool the building which will bring down the costs for the residents. And,being into fitness in a serious way, he expects to spend a lot of his free time in the gym in the building.

“With all the shops and services, from a grocery store and pharmacy across the street to the medical facilities right on the main level of the building to the terrific restaurants within easy walking distance, I am literally counting the days until I’m a resident at Bronte Lakeside,” adds Ian.

Gwen and Joseph Neizer

Gwen and Joseph Neizer have lived in Oakville for close to 18 years in a large four bedroom home on a corner lot raising their four children. As they approach the empty nester stage of their lives, they have turned their thoughts to sizing down and shedding much of the home maintenance activities they have shouldered living in their homeover the past nearly two decades.

Both are retired, Gwen as an acute care nurse in a Mississauga hospital, and Joe from the financial industry, yet they each do work part time to keep busy.

“We really like the Oakville community and wanted to remain here close to our daughter in Toronto as well as the airport, but the challenge was finding the right “next step,” said Joe. “We considered a bungalow as well as another condo project, but neither really appealed to us.”

“It was a friend of ours that mentioned there was a new project coming soon on Bronte and I then saw Bronte Lakeside on Facebook,“ added Gwen. “We really liked the design and were interested in learning more about the project. We were then introduced to Cheryl at the presentation centre who spent an entire afternoon with us going over all the details about the building, the suite options and the location.”

Gwen and Joe signed the contract in September 2022 knowing that the building had just what they were looking for. They purchased a two-bedroom plus den corner suite on the fifth floor facing Lake Ontario and loved the idea of moving from a corner house to a corner suite! They were so pleased with their purchase, they recruited some friends who also bought at Bronte Lakeside.

The amenities of the building were a draw, especially the party room and beautiful outdoor terrace which would come in handy when they have family visiting. Gwen plans to take advantage of the business entre as she is still working part time and they also appreciate the on site bike repair facility as they both like to cycle.

“The location is ideal,” commented Gwen,” with the Farm Boy and pharmacy just across the street. We also do a lot of walking and look forward to taking advantage of the trails nearby and beautiful walk along the lake.”

The couple plans to spend about half a year travelling and the security of just closing their door and leaving for the airport without any concern means a lot.

“We just need to lock and leave,” said Joe. “What could be easier?”

Paul Arkell

Paul Arkell , a real estate professional, currently living in Burlington, was one of the first people to purchase a suite at Bronte Lakeside. Working in the real estate industry himself and living nearby, he recognized the value of the building, its location and the quality of the construction that will be going into it.

“I actually know some of the people behind Bronte Lakeside which gave me a sense of confidence in the project right from the start,” said Paul.

“I purchased the two bedroom plus den condominium for my son who is still in school. It is so challenging for young people to purchase real estate these days and I strongly believe this gives him a good start. He has always shown an interest in investing and we often discuss the various investment options available. Whenever he has any money, he gives me half to invest for him and we discuss exactly where the money is being invested and what his potential returns can be. He immediately realized that Bronte Lakeside would be an excellent investment in real estate as well as an ideal place to live.’

Paul lived for seven years in Bronte Village just a ten minute walk from where Bronte Lakeside will be built and feels the location is one of the strongest draws.

“I think the area is spectacular – hard to beat. It is so close to the lake, walking trails and some great restaurants. And if you need to get to the QEW, it is just minutes away
